For me, there's nothing better than sailing around the San Francisco Bay as the sun sets below the Golden Gate.

About captain memo

Captain Memo Gidley was born to be a sailor! Hours after his birth in La Paz, Mexico, Memo was taken out to his family’s 54’ Alden cutter, the "YoHoHo", which the family sailed a number of times up and down the Pacific Coast.

Growing up in Sausalito, CA, Memo spent most of his early years around, or on, the waters of the San Francisco Bay. He started sailing small El Toros at the age of five, and continued sailing throughout his life on everything from small and fast sailboats and catamarans, to larger racer/cruisers, to some of the nicest old wooden boats on the San Francisco Bay.

Memo’s family was also very involved with the local Sausalito boating community and founded Cass Gidley Marina in 1960, the first sailboat rental school in Sausalito. Cass Gidley Marina remains today as the location of the Sausalito Community Boating Center.

Memo is also an accomplished professional race car driver, having gained success in various car racing series' including CART/Champ Car, IndyCar Racing League, Grand-Am and IMSA.

Captain Memo holds a US Coast Guard 100 ton commercial captains license.
